Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Sabuncu, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Yalova University, together with faculty members of the department, paid a visit to SeaPower Elektrik Sistemleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., accompanied by Yalova Provincial Director of Industry, İlhan Aydın.
During the visit, the faculty members had the opportunity to examine the company’s production facility as well as its R&D and Innovation Center on site. In the meeting held with SeaPower Vice Chairman of the Board, Aytaç Aydın, opportunities for university–industry collaboration were discussed in detail.
The parties reached a mutual understanding on the following areas of cooperation:
- Providing internship opportunities for our students,
- Conducting undergraduate graduation projects and master’s thesis studies in line with the company’s needs,
- Preparing joint TÜBİTAK projects,
- Mapping human resources management, marketing, and production processes, and optimizing these processes through artificial intelligence-supported, algorithm-based analytical methods.
SeaPower, a domestic company operating in the field of power electronics, offers energy-efficiency-oriented solutions such as Marine Class frequency converters, UPS systems, rectifiers, and transformers, particularly for the ship and yacht industry. Located in the Altınova Shipyards Region of Yalova, the company contributes to the “Green Port” vision through its low-carbon and sustainable energy projects.
This visit is one of the strategic steps taken in line with Yalova University’s goal of strengthening university–industry collaboration. It is aimed that this cooperation will continue in the coming period through concrete projects and institutional protocols.
